Welcome to Wild World Ebikes!

Here is a comprehensive guide to vast your knowledge and to answer your curiosities about the  Ebikes. You have been hearing a lot about these ebikes as they are in trend now due to various  reasons. But do you know why the hype is so worth it? Let's dig into the world of ebikes, fasten  your seatbelt... oh wait, we're riding a bike!

What is an Ebike?

When you hear "electric bicycle," you might picture a scooter or electric motorcycle. But that's  not what ebikes look like at all.

Electric bikes are actually bicycles with a battery-powered motor that helps you pedal. The  motor is typically activated when you start pedaling, and it provides assistance until you reach a  certain speed. This makes it easier to ride an ebike up hills, carry heavy loads, and ride long  distances.

The Ed Benjamin, senior managing director at eCycleElectric, say “You control your speed with  your feet, like with a regular bike.” He also added “You just feel really powerful and accelerate  easily.”

Ebikes have different modes to choose from, so you can find the right balance of power, range,  and battery life for your needs.

How does an Ebike work?

Electric bikes have a motor that helps you pedal. The motor can be located in the center of the bike (mid-drive motor), or in the front or rear wheel (hub motor).

If you have a hub motor, it will push the wheel directly. If you have a mid-drive motor, it will work through the bike's chain and gears.

When you pedal, a sensor will measure how much effort you are putting in and adjust the motor's power output accordingly. This means that the motor won't take over completely, but

will give you a consistent boost to help you ride easier.

Here is a simplified analogy:

Imagine you are riding a bike up a hill. With a regular bike, you have to push the pedals harder  and harder as you go up the hill. With an ebike, the motor helps you pedal, so you don't have to  push as hard.

The more effort you put in, the more the motor will help. This means that you can still get  exercise from riding an ebike, but you don't have to work as hard as you would on a regular  bike.

(If still there is any confusion, worry not you will understand all when you will have an ebike in  front of you.)

Where does the power come from?

Power comes from the battery, which might be mounted on the outside of the frame or hidden  within it.

Picture the battery as a fuel tank for your ebike. It can be mounted on the outside of the  frame, or hidden inside it. Many batteries can be removed for charging, but others need to be  charged on the bike. In that case, you'll need to park your bike near a power source.

The controller is like the brain of your ebike. It's usually mounted on the handlebar, or  integrated into the frame. It lets you choose how much assistance you want from the motor,  and keeps an eye on the battery level. Some controllers even have a screen with navigation and  other functions.

Most ebikes have three to five levels of assistance. You can select the level you want using the  controller. The lower the level, the less assistance you'll get from the motor. The higher the  level, the more assistance you'll get.

Some ebikes also have a "boost" button. This gives you a short burst of extra power, which can  be helpful for tackling steep hills or getting started quickly. Just imagine when you use Nitro in need for speed Many ebikes also have a "walk-assist" mode. This mode makes it easier to push the bike when  you're not riding it.

You can change the assistance level at any time while you're riding. You can also turn the motor  off completely and ride under pedal power alone.

When the motor is turned off, it doesn't add any resistance to the pedals. However, the bike  will still be heavier than a regular bike, so it will take more effort to pedal.
